Who are we?

Bridging Barriers is a registered charity focused on providing equal access to opportunities for young people aged 16-25 from underrepresented backgrounds. We focus on pre-employment support through mentoring, to build confidence and resilience in our mentees by giving them access to role models who are able to equip them with the resources, tools and mindset to succeed in their field of interest.

What roles are we hiring for?

We are hiring for interns in the following areas – project management, outreach, fundraising, partnerships and digital marketing. Please see below more information about the various job opportunities available.

Project Management Intern

As a project management intern, you will be in charge of tracking the lifecycle of any project from the beginning to the end, ensuring that they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.
It’s an exciting and varied job that could include anything from working with volunteers to organising events and assisting the youths. If you enjoy a fast-paced, challenging work environment, this is the ideal career path for you.

Outreach Coordinator Intern

As an Outreach Coordinator, you will be in charge of connecting Bridging Barriers with its surroundings. Your responsibilities include brainstorming potential partnerships or methods of engagement with the local community, keeping an outreach event calendar, and collaborating closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events.
You will also seek out new ways to raise awareness about Bridging Barriers while also assisting their community. Your job is to keep in touch with local business owners and officials in order to coordinate fundraisers or community programmes. You may also be in charge of budgeting and overseeing the creation of marketing materials.

Fundraising Coordinator Intern

As a Fundraising Coordinator, you will organise activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations or other gifts for Bridging Barriers. You will be expected to promote the awareness of Bridging Barriers’ mission and work, spot new fundraising opportunities and plan fundraising initiatives
In this role, you will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of Bridging Barriers and has an exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategizing and delivering on new ones.

Partnerships Coordinator Intern

As a Partnerships Coordinator, you will serve as a pivotal member of the Partnership Team and be responsible for the communication, logistics and research related to securing new partnerships and impacting more young people in the Bridging Barriers organisation.
Your role as a partnership coordinator will include engaging members and identifying skills, expertise and assets of local institutions as well as key stakeholders. In addition to that you will help create an environment of trust and collaboration so that stakeholders see Bridging Barriers as a trustworthy organisation. You will also actively build and maintain positive relationships with corporate partners and other key stakeholders

Digital Marketing Intern

A Digital Marketing Manager will help Bridging Barriers market its services via various digital platforms. You will manage the social presence of our organisation through campaigns and track and improve the rate of our performance across these different platforms
As a Digital Marketing Manager, your main duties and responsibilities include developing and implementing digital marketing strategies including social media advertising, email marketing and display ads. You will also build and maintain Bridging Barriers presence across multiple social media channels, create marketing campaigns and measure key performance metrics including website traffic & audience engagement
